Coeur d’Est is a combination of up to 6 varietals; Cabernet Franc, Chambourcin, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, and Merlot. Each of the participating wineries has established their own unique blend of Coeur d'Est using guidelines to assure that the blend includes these varietals in a way that reflects the best of their characteristics when grown in the Outer Coastal Plain AVA. In addition, each of these vintage wines has been highly rated by an independent wine group, the Beverage Tasting Institute.

What is the OCP AVA?
The Outer Coastal Plain American Viticultural Avea (AVA) covers over 2.25 million acres in Southeastern New Jersey. It was established by the federal government in 2006. There are nearly 200 AVA’s currently in the US and the OCP AVA is among the top 10% in size. The wine industry in this AVA currently comprises over 20 wineries and commercial vineyards.
The OCP AVA has climatic and soil conditions which are amongst the best in the East Coast for producing high quality wine.
